Logo, colors, and guidelines

Everything you need to mention or link to Board Manager: in a newsletter, a partner page, a grant report, or a conference slide.

Logo & mark

The mark is a rosette of seats drawn around one shared center: a board, many people, one mission. Keep clear space around it equal to at least a quarter of its width.

Write the name as two words, “Board Manager,” in running text. The joined, two-color form is for the logo only. Please don't recolor the mark, stretch it, or set the color version on navy, photos, or anything dark. Use the reversed version there.

Mascot: the Binder

The board book, finally in order, with tabs for members, terms, and committees. The Binder keeps people company on quiet screens and marks the moments that matter. It never nags, and it never shows up on errors or anything about money.

Waving

Hello: the homepage, sign-in, welcome emails

Content

Empty states and quiet side panels

Pointing

Next steps: onboarding, a first action to take

Worried

Gaps that need attention: an expiring term, an unsigned form

Happy

Done: a checklist finished, a seat filled

One Binder per screen, at most. Keep its colors as drawn, don't add props or speech bubbles, and let it sit beside the copy rather than replace it. The downloads are still poses. On the site the Binder moves gently, and stays still for anyone who has reduced motion turned on.

Color palette

Navy carries the brand; terracotta is the accent, so use it sparingly. Click a swatch to copy its hex value.

Who we are

Board Manager gives small nonprofits one calm place to see their whole board: who serves, when terms end, what's been signed, and who's next. We write for executive directors and coordinators who wear many hats and have no time for jargon.

We are

  • Structured, not bureaucratic
  • Calm, not corporate
  • Practical, not flashy
  • Clear, not clever for its own sake
  • Coordinator-first, and priced for nonprofits

In copy

  • Short sentences, everyday words
  • Buttons say what happens: “Add member,” “Send reminder”
  • Informative, never alarmist, about deadlines and compliance
  • “Board member,” “Committee,” “Meeting,” “Candidate,” never volunteer, program, shift, or prospect
